Details

This sabot base is available in either 1.8mm or 3mm MDF, please select your option.  Both the upper and lower layers will be produced in the same thickness as per your selection.

The slots on this sabot tray are 1mm larger than the bases that sit in them, meaning there is 0.5mm clearance around each side of the base (ie, a 20mm square base fits into a 21mm square slot.

This sabot has been designed to have 3mm (diameter) magnets inserted into both the bottom layer of the sabot and the actual base itself.  The hole for the magnets is 2.85mm diameter which means you will need to force the magnet into the slot which will achieve a strong fit without the need for gluing (though we do recommend a small drop of super glue).

Important Note – it is important you orient the top and bottom plates so that they are aligned correctly.  You can do this by looking for the burn/flash marks on the MDF and making sure those both face downward.  You will then need to make sure you glue the top piece to the bottom piece in the correct rotation so that the magnets align properly.  Take some time and you’ll have no problems.
